53rd (Shropshire) Regiment of Foot Victorian Officer's shako plate badge circa 1869-78. Fine scarce die-stamped rich gilt crowned laurel sprays enclosing the Garter, the finely seeded centre pierced with stencilled numerals 53. Loops. German Third Reich SA Group Franken Stormtrooper's dagger by scarce maker J.P. Sauer & Sohne, Suhl. A good example with nickel mounts, the blade etched 'Alles für Deutschland' and bearing maker’s oval logo. Brown wooden grip inlaid with silvered eagle and swastika and enamelled circular SA device; crossguard stamped with partial 'Fr' (SA Group Franken). Housed in original brown painted scabbard with nickel mounts, the top mount with single suspension ring retaining brown leather hanging strap and spring clip. Minor service / age wear.
