Welcome to the "Wilds", the new theme for Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3. The center of Battle Royale Island has sunk to reveal a new area filled with ancient ruins and thick jungle. The Wilds contain more than just timeworn relics. Even the flora and fauna seem to have emerged from a time long past. Ride on the backs of raptors and utilize the often aggressive plant-life as you face off against enemy players.

Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3 released on June 9, 2023 at 9 AM ET.

Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3 New Map

The map has undergone yet another overhaul with the debut of Chapter 4 Season 3 in Fortnite. This time, the center of the map has sunk below sea-level, revealing ancient ruins and an even more ancient jungle.

Several new Named Locations have emerged from this new jungle biome, and other Landmarks on the outskirts of the area have been noticeably changed. Explore the new map to see what interesting locales you can find!

Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3 Weapons

A new season always means new weapons, and this time around some old favorites have been unvaulted too! Yes, that includes the Combat SMG, which can be found in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3 from floor loot, Loot Chests, and more.

Here are all the new, unvaulted, and carryover weapons you can find in Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3:

"Battle in the jungle, see how a jungle animal sees. While looking through the scope of the Thermal DMR, turn on thermal vision to more easily detect your enemies."

"A hostile insect species known as Wildwasps inhabit the jungle, preferring to swarm around certain plants. Gather them in a jar to throw at enemies! (The Wildwasps set their sights on you? Jump in water or cover yourself in mud to get them off your tail.)"

The Combat SMG is back! Look for this old favorite in floor loot and Loot Chests.

The Drum Shotgun makes a return, this time with a Mythic version. Our only clue as to where to find the Mythic Drum Shotgun so far is that it can be found in a Named Location "rifting in".

Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3 New Features

There is so much more to find in Chapter 4 Season 3's new jungle biome than just ancient ruins. Here's just a quick overview of all the new features and mechanics you can find:

New: Rideable Raptors

These archaic ruins and jungle are home to an even older species of animal... dinosaurs! Find Raptors in the new jungle biome at the center of Battle Royale Island, and tame a Raptor to ride around on its back.

New: Grind Vines

If you love the Grind Rails in Season 2, you will love the Grind Vines located in the new jungle biome! Hop onto one of these moss-slick vines at the center of the island and grind along to gain a momentum boost.

New: Muddy Terrain

A new type of terrain can be discovered in the island's jungle biome: mud. These patches of muddy terrain can be interacted with in a similar way to patches of ice in the Battle Royale Island's winter biome. Slide through a puddle of mud to gain a slight speed boost, or splash around to coat yourself in a stealthy layer of dirt.

While you are covered in mud, you will still maintain the same speed boost while sliding as if you were in a puddle of mud!

New: Canopy Platforms

You might be used to the normal trees in Fortnite, with leaves that typically have no physicality. If you can reach the tall canopies of the new jungle biome, you will find that you can not only stand on these wide tree fronds, but that this is a perfect vantage point to fight from.

New: Jungle Flowers

It's only natural that an ancient jungle would be home to strange and marvelous species of flora, but the plant-life living in the Chapter 4 Season 3 jungle biome is of a whole different breed.

Find four new different types of Jungle Flowers that can be interacted with in different ways:

Bomb Flower: Shoot to create an explosion

Stink Flower: Shoot to unleash a toxic gas cloud

Slurp Plants: Swing your pickaxe to break open for healing

Hop Flowers: Run on top of to bounce without worrying about fall damage

New: Job Boards

At this point in Chapter 4, you are likely familiar with Bounty Boards. Well, in Chapter 4 Season 3 there is a new type of in-match assignment you can pick up for extra Gold Bars: Job Boards!

Job Boards can be found across Battle Royale Island in various Named Locations and Landmarks. Each Job Board has three different "jobs" you can choose from. In essence these are mini-quests, ranging from exploration tasks, gathering tasks, and even collecting bounties.

Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 3 New Augments

Reality Augments get a nice little refresh with the start of Chapter 4 Season 3, giving you plenty of new options to experiment with as you gain new Augments throughout your matches.

Here are all the new Reality Augments in Chapter 4 Season 3:

Primal Companion Reality Augment

Gain thermal vision and regenerate Health while riding animals.

Wildwasp Weaponry Reality Augment

Receive some Wildwasp Jars, and gain an additional one with every elimination.

Sprint Lines Reality Augment

Gain a Slap effect upon using grind vines, grind rails, ziplines, or Ascenders.

Shell Slide Reality Augment

Gain Shotgun shells while sliding.

Swift Shotgun Reload Reality Augment

Your Shotguns will reload faster.

Reckless Rifle Reload Reality Augment

Your Assault Rifles will reload significantly faster when the magazine is empty.

Medium Ammo Acquired Reality Augment

Instantly gain medium ammo, then gain more when you open containers.
